Policy

Home Music Lessons 

Purpose:
To outline the expectations, guidelines, and responsibilities for providing music lessons in students' homes.

1. Lesson Scheduling

• Lesson scheduling is established during the intake process and documented in the Music Lessons Agreement.

• To change the weekly schedule a new agreement must be signed by both parties.

2. Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations and rescheduling must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

• Lessons canceled by student with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged in full.

• In the event of the instructor's cancellation, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at no additional cost.

3. Arrival and Departure

• The instructor will arrive on time for each lesson. If delayed, the instructor will notify the student as soon as possible.

• Parents/guardians/students will ensure the lesson area is safe and free from distractions before the start of each lesson.

4. Payment

• Payment is due at the start of each 4-week period.

• Accepted payment methods: cash and electronic payments.

5. Lesson Environment

• Lessons will be conducted in a quiet space suitable for learning.

• Students are responsible for having their instruments and materials ready at the start of each lesson.

• If instructor provided instruments are in use, parents/guardians or adult students agree to assume responsibility for any physical damage, caused by students, their family, and or pets during lessons.

6. Health and Safety

• If a student or anyone in the household is unwell, lessons should be rescheduled (rescheduling is subject to the Cancellation Policy).

• Teachers will follow any specific health guidelines set forth by the student’s household.

7. Communication

• Open communication is encouraged for any questions or concerns regarding lesson content or student progress.

• Regular updates will be provided to parents/guardians.

8. Privacy and Respect

• All interactions will maintain a professional demeanor.

• The teacher will respect the family’s privacy and request similar respect in return.

9. Termination of Lessons

• In the event that the student requests to terminate lessons for any reason, any upcoming lessons already paid for will be forfeited. 

• If the instructor terminates lessons for any reason, any upcoming lessons already paid for will be refunded via original form of payment.

10. Agreement

• By enrolling in lessons, families agree to abide by this policy.
